Have you ever been sad? No I am not kidding, I genuinely want to know if you have been sad. The kind of sad which dragged you in a dark dark room where nothing came inside and ate you up. The kind of sadness that makes you feel less of a person that you really are, the kind which makes you question your sanity and your existence. Have you felt that?
Who am I kidding, I know you have felt it. I have felt it too, as long as I can remember. If you are anything like me you might be wondering where is it going? When will it end? And after struggling through this feeling one day you will give up to this feeling and just let it be there. It will create a wound that no one will get and you will be used to see and feel that wound all day, everyday.
Have you seen Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban? Can you remember the part where Professor Lupin told Harry? To create the most powerful spell of ‘Patronus Charm’ you have to have a memory, a strong beautiful memory which makes you feel happy. That will help you to your defense against the Azkaban guards.
Can you see what the author did here? I can’t but I assume she meant we can defend our darkest sadness by the most powerful happy memory.
The day I met the man who now is my love is the strongest happiest memory of mine. Whenever I feel sad, or feel the worst, I close my eyes and think of the day when we casually met and he smiled at me. We weren’t even closed back then.
